Still Knitting!

I haven't been feeling well for the past week, but I haven't stopped knitting!

Yesterday, I bought myself a dozen roses to help me feel better, and it's working! :)

Here's a wider view, showing how they look in my craft room:

I think those roses would make ANYONE feel better, don't you?

So, here are some views of my latest knitting endeavors.

I've started another Oddball blanket in the Knitting Help Forum, using Plymouth Encore for my section. I'm ready to mail it to Canada, so chan58 can knit her part!

Here's an easy baby blanket I've been working on while I was sick. Nice and SUPER SOFT! It was easy to pick up and knit mindlessly while watching TV. I'm using two yarns held together throughout - Red Heart Plush and Lion Brand PolarSpun.

Here's a closer view:

I've almost finished making a sleeve for an iPod Nano, for the parent of two of my piano students. I used a free pattern online, and TLC Baby yarn in "Powder Pink Sparkle".

And I'm still plugging along on the Sockintine Socks. I finished both heels!

Making Some Progress on 3 Knitting Projects

I'm finally getting somewhere with some of my knitting works in progress (WIPs).

I started a different scarf for the Red Scarf Project 2007:

I finally turned the heels on the Sockintine Socks I'm making for a person in the Knitting Help Forum that never received her socks from her swap pal:

And, I finished the back, and started the front of the orange wool baby sweater I'm making for the new baby of one of my Knitting Help Forum friends:

Baby Dress is Finished!

Today, I chose the fabric to use for the baby dress. I picked the pink fabric with butterflies and flowers. (Reminder: I used the "Buttercup Sundress" pattern, in the book entitled "Cozy Knits for Cuddly Babies" by Elanor Lynn.)

And here is the finished baby dress!

And here's the label I added inside the dress, that says, "Specially Hand Made By Sandy":

Knit Baby Dress

Now that my craft room is pretty much set up, I can go on with making things again!

Way cool! :)

So, here's one of my current knitting projects: A Baby Dress with a Fabric Skirt.
I found the pattern ("Buttercup Sundress") in the book Cozy Knits for Cuddly Babies by Elanor Lynn.

I've finished all the knitting, and now I have to add the fabric skirt. I originally planned on using some pink fabric with butterflies and flowers. But, now that I have all my fabric displayed in my craft room, I have found two other fabrics that work well with it also.

So, now I have a dilemma. Which fabric do I use for the baby dress?

My Craft Room is Almost Finished!

Finally, my new craft room is almost completely set up. All that's left is deciding where to put some boxes of things that are sitting in the middle of the room.

Last night, I set up my sewing table. Woo Hoo!

I also hung some art on the walls. One is a framed work of embroidery I found for sale at Hobby Lobby. So pretty! The other is a cheap print of a work by Renoir.

And today, I covered all the yellow and black boxes with some pretty shelf paper I already had. (I got that shelf paper a couple years ago at a Goodwill store.) So, I didn't have to buy anything to make the boxes look nicer.
Shelves with Covered Boxes

Do you see the hat boxes on the bottom shelf? I got them at a Christian book store the other day. They were part of a stationery set that was marked down half price. They only had two of them left, so I bought them both. They are so pretty in the room...I'm so glad I found them!

Update on Craft Room

I forgot to post an update on the craft room! Gah!

Here is the shelving we installed on the wall. Do ya like it?
Shelving in My New Craft Room

I started putting some things on the shelves right away. The yellow and black boxes are full of sewing patterns. I think I'm going to cover them with contact paper to make them look nicer.

And here's a view behind the entry door to the craft room. I keep my ironing board there, so it's convenient for sewing. Also, I'm keeping the laundry sorter in this room too, because it's an easy place near our bedroom and bathroom. We sort our laundry as soon as it gets dirty. Then, when a bag is full, I take it down the hall to the laundry room. I love that sorter!

Update on Knitting

For the past two days, I've been busy adding photos of my yarn, and info about knitting projects and knitting books and knitting needles on Ravelry. It's been exhausting, but fun! I'm really loving that website. I can see that it will be a big help for my knitting projects.

So far, because of Ravelry, I've discovered how many duplicate sets of knitting needles I have, and what a HUGE stash of yarn I have. I've also trimmed down my knitting projects to a more feasible number. It was impossible for me to work on that many projects at once, so I frogged some of them until a later date.

So, Ravelry has been good for me. :)

Here are a few of the knitting projects I'm still working on:

A "Hush-a-Bye" Baby Blanket, using two different colors of Bernat Baby Coordinates:
Hush A Bye Baby Afghan

A "Midnight Shawl", so named because of the dark, magical colors of yarn I'm using.

And I've gotten a bit further along with the Willa top. I'm not too thrilled with the way the bottom is rolling, though. :P I guess I can make it longer, so it won't be revealing my big 'ole belly.
